Massimo Bottura - Top Chef with an Appreciation of Art

- Massimo Bottura**
Massimo Bottura is an exception. The two-star chef not only stands out thanks to his many visually spectacular creations, but with aromas, textures and interpretations he is also continually striving for close connections to diverse art forms. In 2009, his restaurant Osteria Francescana in Italian Modena was the highest new entry at 13 in the "The World’s 50 Best Restaurants" competition. In 2010, the restaurant of the self-taught chef climbed seven places to number 6 and is currently at number 4. Massimo Bottura was also given the honour of the "Chefs' Choice" award at this year's ceremony in London. A particular honour, as it is awarded by the international jury of top chefs, in other words Massimo Bottura's closest colleagues.
The dishes from the Italian top chef are like a walk through nature. There is so much to discover: fresh vegetables, dried mushrooms, herbs, fruit, foams and snow. Delicacies in various aggregate states and temperatures. The two-star chef has a perfect understanding of how to combine a down-to-earth style with the avant-garde and his cuisine has convincingly placed him at the very top in Italy.
Each dish that Massimo Bottura produces hides a personal story and he sometimes incorporates almost forgotten childhood memories into his compositions. You can find out exactly how it works and see the star chef's impressive results at the CHEF-SACHE.
